Ann was in both columns

An owner in one entry. A tenant in another.

At Chalk Pit Cottage and Garden, Ann Neame’s name appears twice: owner and occupier.

At Homestale Farm and House she was the occupier, with someone else owning the land. A change of column changes the story. The Faversham tithe transcription puts the cottage she owned beside a farm she occupied.

Other entries break the land into orchards, meadows and tiny pieces with names of their own. Even a pond gets a number. Pick one and the farm becomes much more than a dot on the map.

Transcription evidence. Part 2 is labelled signed 30 September 1839. Ann’s cottage appears in Part 1 without that separate date. Original records and parcel geometry remain unchecked. No kinship is inferred.
